Structures Design Engineer II, August 2014 - May 2015

Worked on structural design and research and development initiatives on the 702SP satellite product line.  Highlights of relevant work includes:

  • Developed and executed on 3D printing initiatives for titanium and aluminum
  • Wrote statements of work for new R&D projects
  • Modified satellite flight hardware for manufacturing

702SP All-Electric Satellite

Worked as a Structures Design Engineer on the all-electric 702SP satellites - a dual stack satellite payload that began launching in 2015.  The images below show the individual satellites as well as the stacked payload.

3D Printing & Satellites

In addition to working on the current satellite product line, I worked on developing 3D metal printing techniques to simplify the manufacturing process and reduce cost on components.  The main purpose was to explore the fatigue characteristics of metal printed parts and explore different ways to improve upon it with post processing techniques.
